Escape from the festivities!

You’re very welcome to take a break from the party season by joining us for Kagyu Ling’s annual end of year retreat between Friday 28 and Sunday 30 December.  There will be 4 sessions of practice each day and you can drop in for any or all of them, whether you have meditation experience or not.

The focus for each session is the meditation practice of Chenrezik. To take part fully in the practice you must have received its reading transmission but anyone is welcome to sit in on sessions, which all include a period of quiet meditation.

Session times will be: 9.00am-10.30am, 11.30am-1.00pm, 2.30pm-4.00pm and 5.00pm-6.30pm.  Other than over lunch, we foster an atmosphere of peace by observing silence and participants are encouraged to spend this time reading in our pleasant lounge or taking a turn in the garden.

Participants can choose to sit on the floor or on chairs for the sessions.  Blankets are available, although you might want to bring a favourite one with you.  A simple lunch is provided every day but we usually find that people bring along plenty of left-over Christmas goodies, too!

There is no fee for attending the retreat, although people are invited to sponsor it and ask for dedications.

The centre will be closed for all other activities, including meditation classes and pujas, during the retreat.
