Kagyu Ling is Manchester’s oldest Buddhist centre. For over 40 years it has provided people with a place and opportunity for meditation in Manchester, to learn about meditation and explore the teachings of the Buddha.
Meditation in Manchester
You are welcome to come to any of the meditation classes at Kagyu Ling. Classes are held throughout the week – see below for a full list. No experience is necessary and there is no need to book – you can just turn up. All our classes are led by experienced practitioners and give you a chance to learn and practise simple calmness meditation.
The way of the Buddha
As well as learning how to meditate, you can also find out about some of the key teachings of the Buddhist tradition at Kagyu Ling. Our classes combine meditation with a brief presentation of such topics as impermanence and karma, loving kindness and compassion. The sessions last for just under an hour and there is time before and afterwards for a chat and a chance to ask questions over tea and coffee in a friendly, relaxed setting.
