Interested in learning to meditate?

If you’ve ever thought of trying to learn meditation, but don’t know where to begin, then why not come along to one of our weekly classes?

Kagyu Buddhism North West runs meditation classes throughout the week in a number of locations in the region. All are welcome, whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience of meditation.

At all the classes we spend time practising a simple calm-abiding meditation technique, which helps the mind to become more calm and still. You can then practise meditation yourself at home. You’ll also be able to learn a little about the basics of Buddhism.

By learning how to meditate we allow ourselves to stay in the present moment, connecting with the natural awareness that lies beneath our thoughts and emotions. This awareness is the source of true wisdom and compassion.

There are classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, and also on Wednesday morning, at Kagyu Ling Buddhist Centre in  Chorlton.  We also run classes at Chapter One Books in central Manchester on Thursdays at 6pm – handy if you work in the city centre and seek some peace and space after a busy day!

Our associated groups run weekly sessions in Birkenhead, Chester, Colne, Didsbury, Hale, Liverpool, New Brighton, Poulton-le-Fylde, Prestwich and Wigan.

At all the classes there is time for questions, conversation and refreshments. And there’s no need to book a place – just turn up!
