Lama Jampa to teach in Manchester
Lama Jampa Thaye will return to Manchester on 3 and 4 February 2024 to continue teaching Situ Dharmakara’s commentary on the Mahamudra Aspiration Prayer composed by the 3rd Karmapa, Rangjung Dorje. This commentary provides a profound explanation of Mahamudra meditation and a defence of the special precepts preserved in the Kagyu tradition.
The venue is The Studio in Lever Street, Manchester.
The teaching runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm on the Saturday and on Sunday from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
On Sunday afternoon from 2.30pm to 4.30pm Lama Jampa will bestow the initiation of Green Tara. The goddess Tara is revered in all traditions of Vajrayana Buddhism as the embodiment of the liberating activity of all buddhas. As such her initiation and meditation are especially effective means of awakening one’s innate capacity for enlightened compassion.
Anyone with a serious interest in Buddhism is welcome to attend the teaching but the initiation is only open to those who have made a formal commitment to Buddhism by taking refuge.
Tickets must be booked online: February 2024 tickets
Refreshments and/or lunch are available at The Studio (card payments only). Lunch orders must be placed by 11am each day. There are many cafes and eating paces nearby.
