Celebrate Buddha Day on 14 June
The second of the four Buddha Days of 2022 – Saga Dawa Duchen – falls on Tuesday 14 June.
Saga Dawa Duchen commemorates the enlightenment and paranirivana of the Buddha and takes place on the full moon day of the fourth Tibetan month.
The 16 Arhats sadhana will be practised at Kagyu Ling Buddhist Centre, Manchester, at 8pm on Tuesday 14 June. People can also join on zoom: Buddha Day zoom.
It is said that the merit from dharma practice done on Buddha Days is multiplied many millions of times.
Anyone who has taken refuge is welcome to sit in during the 16 Arhats puja. The 16 Arhats were realised disciples of the Buddha who made a particular vow to preserve and protect his teaching.
Buddha Days commemorate significant events in the lift of the Buddha and there will be two further Buddha Days this year. Monday 1 August will mark Chokhor Duchen: the turning of the Dharma wheel and Tuesday 15 November will be Lhabab Duchen: the descent from the gods.
