Mainly Meditation Mornings offer an opportunity to learn the simple technique of calm abiding meditation.
All are welcome – whether are you are new to meditation and Buddhism, or have been practising for some time. You can attend any or all of the sessions, and there is no need to book in advance.
Programme for each day
9.30am: 16 Arhats sadhana. You must have had the reading transmission (lung) to join in the 16 Arhats prayers, but anyone who has taken refuge is welcome to sit in.
The sadhana will also be zoomed so people can join online: 16 Arhats zoom.
Please note that the meditation sessions will not be zoomed.
10.30 to 11.30am: first session of calm-abiding shamatha meditation. You will be given an explanation of how to settle the mind with this simple practice.
12 noon to 1pm: second session of calm-abiding meditation.
If you are new to meditation and Buddhism, you may prefer to start with the 10.30 session.
No lunch will be provided but there will be an opportunity to socialise in the breaks between sessions
