Monthly Saturday sessions on Gampopa’s key foundation text, the Jewel Ornament of Liberation, will run at Kagyu Ling throughout 2022 – an ideal introduction to Buddhism. People can also join on Zoom.

Lama Jampa, who teaches the Jewel Ornament at the Manchester shedra, has asked Jonathan Macaskill and John Sainsbury, the Kagyu Ling co-ordinators, to follow up his teachings by going through the text from the beginning.

This will provide an introduction to the key points of Buddhism, as Gampopa’s text covers the whole Buddhist path from its starting point to the achievement of enlightenment.

Also, it will serve as a refresher for people who attended the shedra and enable anyone who missed one of Lama Jampa’s teachings to plug the gap. There will be time for questions and discussion, with the opportunity to spend longer on elements of the text.
