As part of the build up to the visit of HH Karmapa, Geoff Ashmore will present a short survey of the Karmapa lineage from its beginnings to the present day during the Social Saturday on 13 July 2024.

The talk will be at 11.30am – 12.30pm, in place of the usual second meditation session.  You can also join the talk (but not the meditation session) on zoom:  Karmapa talk.

Geoff’s presentation is based on a teaching given by Lama Jampa in Yorkshire in 2002 on the Karma Kagyu tradition and will have a particular focus on the relevance and connections to our own dharma practice and study. Everyone is welcome to attend.

You can come just for the talk at 11.30am if you wish, or come at 10am for the meditation session.

After Geoff’s talk, we enjoy lunch together.  Then help with jobs around the centre in the afternoon.  Work will begin around 1.30pm.

Feel free to drop in for one session or to stay all day.

This is a great opportunity to practise meditation with others and then chat over lunch. In the afternoon you can lend a hand with gardening, cleaning, or repairs. All are welcome – if you can make a cup of tea and/or do a bit of dusting there will be a job for you!
