Birkenhead meditation classes
Birkenhead Buddhist meditation group has resumed its regular weekly classes.
The sessions are held every Wednesday from 8pm to 9pm at the Quaker Meeting House, Park Road South.
Our sessions give you a chance to learn and practise meditation. You can also hear a short explanation of some of the essential Buddhist teachings, with their relevance to our own lives today. There is time afterwards for questions and discussion.
Newcomers are always welcome. No experience is necessary and you don’t need to book – just come along.
Social distancing measures must be followed at each session. Hand sanitisers will be available on entry. Face coverings are currently required to be worn on entering and at all times while moving around. As the seating will be arranged to be 2m apart, you will not be required to wear a face covering once you are seated.
Venue: Quaker Meeting House, 83 Park Road South, Birkenhead, CH43 4UU.

Online meditation classes
If you aren’t able to go to meditation classes, why not join an online meditation session? Regular Meditation Zones are held using Zoom. Meditation Zones are open sessions, and all are welcome and you can join in wherever you are.
First, each session gives an explanation of a simple calming meditation practice. After that there is a brief talk on a key aspect of the Buddha’s teachings.
Visit What’s On for details of all meditation classes – in person and online – and Zoom links.

More meditation classes
We have groups across the north west including Cheshire and Lancashire. In addition to the Birkenhead group, there is another group in the Wirral in New Brighton, along with groups in Chester, Liverpool, Colne, Wigan, Poulton-le-Fylde, Prestwich and Central Manchester. Usually all the groups hold weekly classes, at which newcomers are welcome, but due to coronavirus some are currently suspended. Check each group’s page for more information.
