Online meditation classes
While Buddhist meditation classes in Birkenhead are closed due to coronavirus, you can join online Meditation Zones, held regularly using Zoom. Meditation Zones are open sessions, and all are welcome.
First, each session gives an explanation of a simple calming meditation practice. After that there is a brief talk on a key aspect of the Buddha’s teachings.
Visit What’s On for Meditation Zone times and Zoom links.
Birkenhead meditation classes
Due to the coronavirus situation, Birkenhead Buddhist meditation group classes are closed until further notice. But below is some information about our usual sessions. Of course we’ll update this page as soon as classes resume.
Wednesdays 8pm to 9pm: Our sessions give you a chance to learn and practise meditation. You can also hear a short explanation of some of the essential Buddhist teachings, with their relevance to our own lives today. There is time afterwards for questions, discussion and refreshments. Newcomers are always welcome. No experience is necessary and you don’t need to book – just come along.

We have groups across the north west including Cheshire and Lancashire. In addition to the Birkenhead group, there is another group in the Wirral in New Brighton, along with groups in Chester, Liverpool, Colne, Wigan, Poulton-le-Fylde, Prestwich and Central Manchester. Usually all the groups hold weekly classes, at which newcomers are welcome, but due to coronavirus many are currently suspended. Check each group’s page for more information.
