Karmapa visit – save the dates
His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje, will visit Manchester and Harrogate in July 2024.
Kagyu Dechen Buddhism is honoured and delighted to host the Karmapa’s third visit to the UK at the invitation of Lama Jampa Thaye.
Details of the events are still being finalised but the following dates are fixed so please mark them up in your diaries:
Harrogate:
Thursday 18 July, 3pm to 6pm: initiation of Green Tara.
Manchester:
Saturday 20 July, 10.30am to 1pm: Talk – The Buddhist Way of Life.
Saturday 20 July, 3pm to 6pm: initiation of Sanjay Menla (Medicine Buddha).
Sunday 21 July 10.30am to 1pm: Talk – The Buddhist Way of Life.
Sunday 21 July, 3pm to 6pm: initiation of Chenrezik.

Details of the venues are not yet finalised but are within the town / city centres. Please also note that the finish times are just guidelines.
Tickets must be booked online in advance. This website will be updated and booking links published as soon as they are available.
The initiations are open to everyone who has taken refuge or wants to do so. Refuge and the bodhisattva vow will be given to everyone during the preliminary part of the initiations. If you haven’t previously received these, you will have them from this time.
