Lama Jampa in Manchester – book tickets

Lama JampaLama Jampa Thaye visits Manchester on 10 and 11 December 2022 to give the tenth instalment of his teaching of Gampopa’s Jewel Ornament of Liberation, the key manual of study and practice in the Kagyu tradition.

The teaching is at The Studio, Lever Street, Manchester.

Saturday 10 December 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
Sunday 11 December 10.30am to 12.30pm.

On Sunday afternoon from 2.30pm to 4.30pm Lama Jampa will give the initiation of Yellow Dzambala.

Please note that while the teaching is open to all, the initiation is only open to those who have made a formal commitment to Buddhism through taking refuge.

A two-day ticket is £60, and one-day tickets are £30. There is no charge for under-18s. Concessions are available.

Refreshments will be available as usual at The Studio, but please note that you must pay by card. Wristbands for unlimited hot drinks are £5 per day, for lunch are £6 per day (£8 with pudding), and for both (including pudding) are £10 per day.

Jewel Ornament of Liberation

The Jewel Ornament of Liberation gives a complete explanation of the Buddhist path from its starting point to the achievement of enlightenment and is relevant to anyone who has a serious interest in Buddhism. Buddha nature, precious human life, impermanence, karma, suffering, loving kindness, compassion, and the six perfections are among the topics covered in the Jewel Ornament of Liberation.

Gampopa (1074 – 1153CE) was the principal student of the great yogin Milarepa and is one of the most highly revered Tibetan Buddhist masters.
