It is important to keep a record of the teachings we have received. Receiving the relevant initiation or reading transmission (Tib: lung) is what allows us to practise or study a teaching.

24 & 25 February 2018: Pointing a Finger at the Dharmakaya (part 2)
Lama Jampa Thaye continued teachings on this Mahamudra practice text by the 9th Karmapa Wangchuk Dorje. The 9th Karmapa wrote three main works on Mahamudra and this is the briefest. It contains teachings on the practices of the ngondro (the preliminaries), on shamatha (calm abiding), and on vipashyana (insight). On Sunday afternoon Lama Jampa gave the Initiation of Namgyalma, the female meditation deity. Namgyalma is one of the three main Buddhist deities of longevity, along with White Tara and Amitayus. Lama Jampa also gave the lung for the Namgyalma practice from the lineage of the 9th Karmapa.
7 & 8 July 2018: Pointing a Finger at the Dharmakaya (part 3)
Lama Jampa concluded his teachings on this Mahamudra practice text by the 9th Karmapa Wangchuk Dorje.
On Sunday afternoon Lama Jampa gave the initiation of White Tara. Tara is revered in all traditions of Vajrayana Buddhism as the embodiment of the liberating compassion of all buddhas. Lama Jampa also gave the lung for the White Tara practice by Situ Tenpa’i Nyinje.
1 & 2 December 2018: The Jewel Ornament of Liberation (part 1)
The Jewel Ornament of Liberation by Gampopa is the key manual of study and practice in the Kagyu tradition. Gampopa’s masterwork provides a complete survey of the spiritual path, from its beginning to Buddhahood. Buddha nature, the four preliminary reflections, bodhichitta and the six perfections are among the topics covered.
On Sunday afternoon Lama Jampa gave the initiation of Chenrezi from the Chikshe Kundrol. Lama Jampa also gave the lung for the Thangtong Gyalpo Chenrezi practice.
