Chester meditation
Chester Buddhist meditation group holds lojong - mind training - sessions on Saturdays approximately every month, and a book club meeting every other month.
Lojong sessions include an introduction to meditation, contemplation of the four thoughts that turn the mind to dharma, and a period of mind-training - a system of meditation for developing the thought of enlightenment. At its heart is the practice of exchanging oneself for others. These sessions are led by Mike Wake.
Book club sessions focus on ‘Wisdom in Exile’ by Lama Jampa Thaye and will include discussion about the meeting between ancient Eastern wisdom and modern Western culture. Ade Jackson leads the book club.
These meetings are open to all and newcomers are welcome.
Christmas break: The Chester group is now closed until the new year. This page will be updated when details of January sessions are available.
Venue Wesley Centre, St John Street, Chester, CH1 1DA. (Book club attendees should meet at the Wesley Centre and the meeting may be held in a less formal venue nearby. Any latecomers are asked to phone for details: tel 07784 865087.)
